Burn Baby Burn

Howdy!

Another quick one today as I'm off to work in a minute, but I just thought I'd share some nail art.

Last night we had a Burns night specials night at work (I work in a restaurant) so we were told we had to dress in tartan for the festivities, which really wasn't a problem for me, I love tartan! I wore some Topshop red tartan treggings with my white shirt.

I thought I'd go all out and do my nails as well and did the Scottish flag using the thin white nail brush that I used in my halloween nails post. For the blue I used a Rimmel + Lycra polish, then finished the whole thing off with a clear top coat so it stayed on nicely.

I hoped you enjoyed this, let me know what you think in the comments!

Lust List #1

Howdy!

I thought that today I'd debut a new feature that have been thinking about; the Lust List! It'll be a collection of about 10 items that I'm absolutely loving and dying to get my hands on, so here goes!

1) The Aleksus boots from Missguided. I saw a pair of beets very similar to these in my local Bank Fashion shop, and haven't been able to find them anywhere else until now,
I adore these! (£37.99)

2) Drop Dead's Bluntly Does It t-shirt. I have a skirt that I featured in a previous post that this would go perfectly with. (£30)

3) After seeing Amy Valentine and her Marc B Penny bag I have been after one for ages, but can't seem to find it online, but I was on the website and saw this gorgeous Giselle Maroon Tote. (£69)

4) I tend to find Urban Outfitters a bit pricey, but I saw Brenton RIbbed  jumper and fell in love with it! (£42)

5) Another Missguided item, this time the Dianera Collared Dogtooth shift dress (£24.99)
6) On a recent trip to Topshop I saw the cream version of this Teddy Fur peacoat and thought it was the most adorable thing ever, then when I realised it also came in black I was super happy!  And even though winter is almost behind us (thank goodness) I can't help but lust after this gorgeous coat. (£79)

7) Luisa check midi skirt from Boohoo. So cheap yet so beautiful...even if they have sold out in my size (£8)

8) Of course there has to be more than one Topshop coat/jacket in this list, they are massively on point with outwear at the moment, and I love this MOTO vintage borg denim jacket  (£58)

9) Weronika Dogtooth Skinny Trousers. Again I saw these on Amy Valentine's blog (which I am a huuuuuuuge fan of) and fell in love! (£21.99)

10) Finally, no lust list would be complete without a pair of Docs, and I think these 1460 boots and classic (£100)

I hope you enjoyed this, please let me know what you think in the comments!

Smells Like Teen Spirit

Howdy!

Another review today, but this time its perfume. You'll have to bare with me if I don't really make sense in this one, I've never done a perfume review before.

For Christmas I received a voucher for Next, and having been a fan of their fragrances for a while now I knew that is what I would spend the voucher on. After circling the fragrance section about 6 times I finally settled on this one, the Eau Nude eau de parfum. It has a more 'grown up' smell to it (if that makes sense) as it isn't overpoweringly sweet, it's more of a musky scent which I really like. The website says it contains 'An enticing blend of lush red fruits, voluptuous florals, powdery musk and sumptuous vanilla', which I'm sure is true, but I don't really know perfumes that well yet.
As for the bottle, it's a simple one. Frosted glass and a cute little ribbon and button at the top, very understated, which I like, however I do prefer a pretty or more interesting bottle.
Overall I really do like this perfume and I do recommend it.

I hope you enjoyed this, let me know if you would like to see more reviews in the future!

Uptown Girl

Howdy!

Just a quick one today, but I really like my outfit today!

You may remember a couple if weeks ago I bought some MOM jeans similar to these ones from Topshop and I have been living in them! They're so comfortable and I find them effortlessly stylish. Today I styled them with a black v neck long sleeved top, a wide black belt, an oversized silver chunky chain and my trusty black  Dr.Martens for a real grunge look.
I finished the look off with (rather heavy) black eyeliner, for which I used the Maybelline Studio Gel Liner and my Kate Moss for Rimmel red lipstick in shade 01.

I hope you enjoyed this quick update, and if you want to see more of my daily outfits and goings on you can follow my Instagram here

Fact-tastic

Howdy!

I thought I'd try something different today and do a review, so here goes!

On one of my several trips around the January sales I decided to finally buy myself a lilac coloured lipstick, as I'd been wanting to try one after seeing Amy Valentine wear one in one of her posts. After looking around the make up sections in Superdrug I found this Barry M one in the shade 129 that I thought would be perfect, as it was just the colour I was looking for and an absolute steal at £4.49.

When I got home I rushed to try it out and was unfortunately left disappointed. As opposed to the lovely matte finish I was looking for it was overly glossy and really cheap looking (as can be seen in the second swatch test on my hand). It also looked quite watery without putting on a fair few coats (the first swatch) but that made it a darker purple colour which wasn't what I was going for.

I hope you enjoyed this, and if you want to see more posts similar to this in the future let me know in the comments!

Material Girl

Howdy!

Today I took a little trip into town with my grandma and went slightly crazy in Boots.

I needed to replace my foundation as I was close to running out. Lately I've been using the Bourjois Healthy Mix liquid foundation in vanilla and I really like it! I also thought it was about time to buy a new mascara so I went with the Natural Collection Lashbuild mascara. Whilst in Boots I also picked up a concealer, as I haven't been using one lately and I was in desperate need of one, so I bought the Rimmel London Hide the Blemish concealer. Then I re-bought my daily face wash, which is the Garnier pink grapefruit Daily Scrub. Last but most certainly not least I finally got around to buying the Real Techniques Stippling brush. I've wanted one of these for so long and I can't wait to try it out!

After Boots I went for a wander around the charity shops, then made my way to my favourite vintage shop in town, Vintage Vixen, where I found this incredible red velvet turban, for only £4!

I put it on straight away and it went perfectly with my Kate Moss for Rimmel red lipstick.

Postcards and Polaroids

Howdy!

So I finally bit the bullet and invested in a pair of MOM jeans from Topshop after an internal debate that's been going on since I first saw them. The only issue I have with them is that I had to buy a size bigger because of the cut of the jean, so they are a little spacious around the waist, but apart from that I adore them! I don't normally go for the lighter coloured denim (I usually stick to black for all my clothes, not just jeans), but the vintage 90's feel of these was too good to not buy.
I thought I'd stick with the 90's theme and try to rock a bit of double denim with this denim-look bralet from the Topshop sale last summer, it's very cropped so fits well with the high waisted nature of the MOM style jeans.
Over the top of this ensemble I threw on my floral satin kimono from Peacocks and tied that in with a white flower necklace I picked up at yet another car boot sale.

I hope you enjoyed this, let me know in the comments!

We Don't Care For Romance

Howdy!

It's that time of the week again, outfit post time! Recently I went and waded my way through the sales to try and find some bargains, but to my horror, there was nothing I found that I liked, but never one to waste a shopping trip I bought my myself a few bits and pieces for the new season.
The first thing I bought was this mini skirt from New Look. Now I'm most definitely not a pink wearer, but this was just too cute to pass up, it's quite fluffy so it's perfect to wear through January, and the pink checks are so on trend.
I also bought a mint green cropped t-shirt from Primark, which has a lovely quilted detail, very similar to this one from Topshop, and I put the two together because I thought the pastel shades really complimented each other.
To finish it off I added my vintage denim jacket, my pink frilly ankle socks and the cheetah necklace that I featured in a post a few weeks ago.

I hop you enjoyed this, let me know in the comments!

Antivist

Howdy!

I was a bit more daring with this outfit today, mixing patterns and actually wearing shorts, which is not a regular thing for me.
The shorts were another Topshop purchase that I bought for my holiday to Spain in October, and they are the first pair of shorts that I found to fit me almost perfectly! Sticking with the holiday theme I put a black swimming costume under the shorts to use as a body, and then I added this sheer shirt. I bought it from Matalan a few years ago, and I really like the gold chain print and green colours.
Finally, I teamed the outfit with my leopard print Peter Pan style boots from Primark, which are super comfortable.

I hope you liked this, let me know in the comments!

New Years Shenanigans

Howdy!

Once again, I know its late, I guess this is going to have to be a common theme here haha.

My New Years celebrations were a day early this year, so I spent my NYE with some friends and my family eating curry in my amazing Drop Dead Oskar onesie that I got for christmas from my dad, which, I'm not going to lie, was a great way to spend the night.

Normally in the past, I'll make the usual resolutions of 'eat healthy', 'run more' etc ect, but this year I went for something a bit different as I didn't want to restrict myself, I thought it would be important to try and bring new things into my life, rather than cut stuff out.
So here they are! My 2014 New Years resolutions:

1) Believe in myself.
Over the past few years I've found it very hard to have confidence to do things, and I think a lot of this comes from my anxiety, but I made the decision to power through it in 2014, which won't be easy, but it will be the one I will focus on the most.
2) GET. SHIT. DONE.
I am the WORST at procrastinating (or the best) and I find it so hard to be organised and get all my college work done, but this is something I am hoping to change in 2014. I also want to apply this to things I want to do, not just need to, like posting more on this blog and becoming involved in things outside of college.
3) Go to new places.
Travel is something I am greatly interested in. Last year I took the opportunity to go to Krakow in Poland with my GCSE history class, and really caught the travelling bug. This year I'm hoping to go to Paris (again with history), and as soon as I get my driving license I will be scooting up and down the country like there's no tomorrow.
4) Be healthier.
I know it's the typical resolution, but for me this doesn't just apply to eating and exercise, it is also in how I treat myself and my mind set, I'm trying to kick the negativity from all areas of my life.
5) Try new things.
2014 is the year I'm trampling my comfort zone into the dust, whether that be in terms of fashion, activities, people, whatever, I want to do new things. I also want to listen to new music, watch films I may never have thought of as interesting, read books that I probably would have never picked up (so if you guys have any suggestions please feel free to leave them in the comments!)

I hope you enjoyed this, it's a little something different, let me know in the comments!

Jersey Just Got Colder

Howdy!
I hope you had a wonderful holiday period and are looking forward to the year ahead, I know I am!
Today I went for a very simple outfit, because with a jumper this bright you don't  need to put much else with it! I picked it up in the Topshop summer sale, for an absolute bargain and I really like it, but it's a bit to bright to wear all the time. To try and tone it down, I paired it with my black Topshop skater skirt, and when I wore it out I added black tights and my trusty black Dr. Martin boots.
This stag head necklace was another car boot buy, and it's one of my favourite pieces of jewellery.

I hope you enjoyed this, let me know in the comments!

Give Your Heart a Break

Howdy, and Happy New Year!
Yet another outfit post, this one featuring possibly my favourite buy of the 2013, the cat jumper! I saw this on Sheinside and knew I just had to have it! When it arrived I was a little disappointed at the quality, as even though it didn't cost a huge amount, there were threads coming lose and it as a very nylon-y material when I expected more of a sweatshirt material. However, after a couple of washes it feels more like a jumper and less like a shell suit.
I've been wearing it a lot with my River Island high waisted trousers and this adorable little pearl collar necklace, as it makes the jumper look even cuter (if thats possible). I also wore this large pearl bracelet that my friend Charlotte got me for my birthday a few years ago, and a pair of brown boots with a shearling inside that I got from Peacocks.

I hope you enjoyed this, let me know in the comments.
